The group plays the Skyrim theme in the last concert before leaving for Hungary. It will be interesting to see if we have got any better after the tour.
A lovely day sharing with our Hungarian guitarist friends today. After some hilarious icebreaking activities organised by Zoltan we got straight into rehearsing together. Later we were invited by Pomaz Music School to eat lots of lovely Hungarian food. Fried chicken, potatoes, rice and a local soup was on offer and eagerly eaten by all. Plenty of vegetarian options too. The concert was a great success and after the Budakalsz and Pomaz groups played their own sets we played Skyrim, Mozart and Danza Cubana before joining forces. The Hungarians had learned the joint repertoire really well so that 40 guitarists together sounded really powerful. Local student, Kristof joined in on the bongos and cajon which provided a real lift to Breathless and La Colombina. Again, the audience were really appreciative and demanded an encore at the end...guess what we played? Technical problems means we cant post videos yet but we will keep trying! ...
We have had an action packed 5 days and are sad to be heading home tomorrow. Our host families have been so generous, welcoming and warm. Our guys feel like they have made friends for life. Two great concerts today at Budakalasz Music School. This morning our group played before an audience of 250 local primary school children and judging from their enthusiastic response they really enjoyed it. Our hosts then treated us to a wonderful 3 course lunch followed by a bit of well earned chill out time. This evening we joined forces with our friends from Hungary for a combined concert, our last of the tour and what a finisher!!!. From Ulla- This has been the best concert so far (and you all know how difficult it is for me to admit that|). We have sounded like never before. So in sync...and breathing together at the same time.
