Another day of glorious sunshine in Hungary
We have had an action packed 5 days and are sad to be heading home tomorrow. Our host families have been so generous, welcoming and warm. Our guys feel like they have made friends for life. Two great concerts today at Budakalasz Music School. This morning our group played before an audience of 250 local primary school children and judging from their enthusiastic response they really enjoyed it. Our hosts then treated us to a wonderful 3 course lunch followed by a bit of well earned chill out time.
This evening we joined forces with our friends from Hungary for a combined concert, our last of the tour and what a finisher!!!.
From Ulla- This has been the best concert so far (and you all know how difficult it is for me to admit that|). We have sounded like never before. So in sync...and breathing together at the same time. They have grown sooooo much! I couldn't be any more proud of them! The highlights were an unexpected solo introduction to Danza Cubana performed by Loveday, Susan, Roxanne, Aina, Liliana, and Jakaya who wanted to be challenged and learnt a completely new part 1h before the concert (awww). Poppy on the octave guitar, Tania, Hannah and Amelie sounded (and looked) like pros! Blisters on Isabelle's fingers proved a true commitment to "one for all-all for one" attitude! We are such Musketeers!!! Lovely groovy beats from Aimee, beautiful sound from Daniel, Naima and Rocco and the strong bass line from Alex (performing for the first time on the contrabass guitar) added a needed depth to our performance. Esme has charmed everyone with her beautiful voice when singing Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, which we learnt at the last minute. She earned a massive applause from the audience
What a great concert , you all sounded amazing, well done!
ReplyDeleteProud of you all. This tour has clearly fulfilled all our ambitions of building international friendships through music; enabling young people to develop their understanding of other cultures and grow in maturity, both as citizens and musicians. They will remember this for the rest of their lives and we look forward to them wowwing audiences at home!
ReplyDeleteThanks especially to Nick, James and Ulla.
See you back in Haringey,
Peter Desmond
